Fall Colors

07 Oct

Is there anything as breathtaking as fall, when the leaves start to change, and the sunshine somehow seems more golden and warm?  I love this time of year…everything is so crisp and cool, and the apples are ripe…and kittens are playing…  I have had my camera out and working overtime to try to capture all the wonderful things around us.  I hope you enjoy.

Love the first kitty photo, with the kitty out of focus in the background–certianly the cat blends in with those lovely colors, and the sun is just beautiful in that photo 🙂 And I adore the cat photos in general. 🙂 Thanks for sharing.

    Hi Katie,

Thank you so much for the nice comments on my photos. I adore cats, and have dozens of photos of both the house cats and the outside cats. They bring a lot of happiness to my life.

You have wonderful photos on your blog! I’ll be checking it out more shortly.

Thanks again. I appreciate it. 🙂

Thanks, Jenna! I put a message on another post, but I wanted to come back here, and say I love the kitty sitting on the post. The cat’s eyes just bore through me. These photos are just fun too. And you live in such a pretty place. If I lived somewhere like that I’d take a lot more photos of nature. 🙂 Another thing, the light in these photos are just beautiful. Makes so much difference. Thanks for sharing.

And thanks for checking out my blog! 🙂

Thank you so much for the really generous comments on my work, Katie! It means a lot. 🙂 The cat you see on the post is a real sweetheart, and she seems to like posing for the camera. I agree with you – good lighting makes and breaks good photo opprotunities sometimes.

I was happy to visit your blog, and intend to check it more often and see what’s new. Your photography is wonderful!

    Thanks again.

I absolutely love autumn. It’s probably my favourite season, although I love summer too.

These pictures are really beautiful! May I ask what camera you use? I really want to find a good camera to take to my trip to Venice next year. 🙂

I’m much the same way, Sandra. Summer is wonderful, but I don’t mind the fall season. I like sweatshirts and, obviously, the colors. 🙂

Thank you very much! I have a Fujifilm FinePix s700. It was the first digital camera I bought (the one before this was cheap and took film…that was before I found passion for photography). I did a lot of internet research to try and find the best camera on a limited budget. This one, according to most internet reviews, was about as good as I could do. It’s simple to use, yet has a lot of really nice features to explore. I’ve had this one for almost four years, and it’s been such a great camera. Really good battery life, too. The only downside is that I have a hard time getting good indoor shots. The flash is a pop up style. It’s worked perfectly until just a couple of weeks ago, and now it won’t lift on its own anymore. If I need to use the flash (I rarely like flash photography, as it’s too harsh) I have to hold it up manually.

If you’re looking for a really great camera for a pretty good price, I would certainly recommend this one.

Venice? How exciting! I can’t imagine a trip like that. Have fun, and happy camera shopping! 🙂

By the way, I really like your book cover designs! They have a great, classic feel to them. 🙂

Thanks for the info! I looked it up, and the camera looks really nice. 🙂

Venice is somewhere I’ve always wanted to go, and I figure if you don’t start planning somewhere, you’ll never get anywhere. (My words of wisdom. haha)

And thank you for looking at my book covers! I’m glad you liked them. 😀

Have fun with photography! I hope you continue to stick with it, cause your pictures are wonderful. 🙂

    Glad to help. 🙂

What you say about travel is so true. Something people should take to heart (myself included).

It was a joy to look at your book covers. Do you design covers for books you’ve read? I only ask because I’m a big fan of “The Phantom of the Opera”. In fact, I’ve done a couple of drawings inspired by the film. They can be seen here. Good story and so moving.

Thank you! I don’t expect my passion for photography is going anywhere. There is just too much to cherish and enjoy.

Yes, I do in fact do covers of books I’ve read! Although, some books I just base the covers on my sense of feeling towards the story. Like “Through the Looking Glass” for example. I used a font that looked very strange/ slightly odd. The world through Alice’s eyes was exactly like that. 🙂

I did see your Phantom of the Opera drawings! I love the musical! And I loved your pictures too! They were nicely done.

Well, you portray the stories well. Keep up the great work! 🙂

Thanks for the nice comments on my Phantom drawings. I appreciate it. I really like the musical, too.

I love the photo # 170 ! It’s a really good photo, I wonder what they were looking at ? So funny !
But, Oh…I adore the photo with the cows ! I LOVE cows and this photo is so so so so beautiful ! Would you wind if I save it in my computer and use it as one of my desktop ?

Thanks, Jocelyne! I can answer that question, actually. I was out there with these cats, and I picked up a long, narrow stick and was waving it to play with the kittens. At one point, I was tapping it against the tree over their heads, and they all looked up and I was fortunate enough to snap the photo in time. 🙂 And thank you! I’m so happy you like that cattle photo. If you’d like it on your desktop, go ahead and save it. I’ll just ask you to please not copy it or send it elsewhere. Thanks much! Oh, and if you like cow photos, the cattle photo in this link is one of my personal favorites. I loved how these steers all lined up just right for the photo. They made a great, diagonal line just for me. 🙂

Thanks, as always, for the very kind comments! I always appreciate it very much.

Thank you Jenna, no worries I will never copy or send it elsewhere, you can count on me for that.
Thanks for the link, I saw the photo and I think I never saw cows perfectly aligned like that !
