More Cat Scratches (WIP)

13 Apr

Slowly, bit by bit, Oliver is starting to creep out of the dark.  The ears…hmm…I have a little anxiety about the ears as they don’t seem quite right, but one must continue to plow through.  I guess there isn’t much to say about this at the moment.  Just more scratches to look at.

Thanks for looking. 🙂

    Hi Jenna,

to me Oliver looks perfect, even the eyes. How he´s emerging from the dark is simply stunning. I will never become bored to look at your WIPs. It´s always amazing to watch the progress.

    Cheers!

How big is this scratch board? What are you scratching it with? The amount of detail is incredible!

Zorgor, it’s 8×10 inches in size. As far as the tools I’m using, my first choice is a regular X-Acto knife. I replace the blades pretty often to keep it sharp, otherwise it becomes a little harder to control the lines. I’m also using an actual scratchboard knife (check out the link) sparingly. It makes bolder lines, which can be good, but I like the finer details. http://www.amazon.com/Scratch-Art-Curved-Edge-Scratch-Knife-Pack/dp/B0044SC80O/ref=pd_sim_sbs_t_3

Thank you so much for the very kind comments! I really appreciate it!

So that means so far, with the head, you’re doing all that in a 4 or 5 inch square?!? Now I’m even more blown away than merely ‘impressed’… I mean, wow. Just wow!

Yes, I suppose that would be about the size of the head, Zorgor. Thank you so much for the very kind words. 🙂 It means a lot.
