State Fair, Here I Come

06 Jul

It’s that wonderful time of year when fairs are popping up everywhere.  I’ve been entering artwork in the Northern Wisconsin State Fair for several years and this year is no exception.  I just thought I would show the artworks and photographs I entered this year.  I won’t know how they placed until next week.

I hope you enjoy the pictures.  There are seven artworks and twelve photos.

Thanks for looking! 🙂

These look great Jenna, I’m sure you will bring home some ribbons. I also like to enter paintings into the fair, but my brushes are still on strike. Tell everyone HI from me.

Wow, good luck! All great stuff! I’m especially glad you entered the yellow cat and the wire horse. That picture of the two deck chairs is very good too. But tell me, how is it you found yourself hovering above a moose?? 🙂

Thanks so much, Zorgor! I will be going to see how these pieces placed this week or weekend. It’s hard to wait. Haha, that moose is actually in a zoo, and I was on a walkway above his pen. At first, I was a little disappointed by the angle (I could only photograph the moose from above), but in the end it worked out. 🙂 Thanks for the comments.

Jenna, I love them all ! But the one’s that caught my eye the most, (apart from your drawings which you know I adore) are the photo of your cat in the sink, I just love this photo, it’s so original and I love the angle you took for this photo, the sunset which is absolutely a wonderful photo, the chairs on the deck, I love the composition and the beautiful golden light, the snowstorm, it’s beautiful and amazing, the peshtigo, again I love the angle of the photo took from above, it’s so special, I had never seen a photo of an animal taken from this angle, it takes the eye of an artist :), the ducks, simply beautiful, and the doorknob, I think it’s my favourite, again, it takes the eye of an artist. Is it a cow we see in it ? I had never seen the Christmas card Mary, it’s so very beautiful and full of details.
I wish you good luck ! As of me, I would give them all the first place ! Hee ! Hee !

Thank you so much for the very generous comments on my entries, Jocelyne! I’m glad you like them. Oliver is so very near and dear to me, so I have scores of photos of him. This one of him in the sink is a personal favorite though. 🙂 I’m so glad you like all the pieces. I did have to laugh when you wondered if it was a cow’s reflection in the doorknob. It is, in fact, my reflection. Mostly, it’s of my hands and the camera, but you can make out my legs if you look closely. 🙂 Thanks again, Jocelyne. Tomorrow’s the big day…I’ll find out how they placed. 🙂

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL !!!!!!! Oh noooooooo, I didn’t meant to say your reflection looks like a cow !!!! This is so super funny ! I had a huge laugh ! I see your legs now….When I first looked at it , I saw the grass then I saw something black and I assume it was a cow. Lol ! I probably need some glasses…I do wear them when I read but I didn’t had them when I looked at your photos !

I’m glad you could laugh about this too. I know I did when I read your comment. 🙂 Thanks again, Jocelyne. 😀
