Draft Horse WIP 6

17 May

Here is a little update on my horse.  I’ve had a busy month, being away from home much of the time, as well as working on a couple of other art projects.  I’ve got a new wire sculpture to share soon, and a pen and ink drawing that I’ve not shared here yet.  Stay tuned. 🙂

Just moving along the top of the head, finally getting both ears in place.  I’m now making my way down the neck.  I’m having fun with this one.

Hi inari, and thanks for the nice comment! This is actually a scratchboard drawing. Are you familiar with scratchboard? It is so much fun! I truly admire people who can work in pastel, as that medium does not come very naturally to me. I checked out your blog and was impressed by your lovely work! I especially like your pencil drawings, and that cropped image of the horse’s eye is very beautiful! I love detailed drawings, so that one really grabbed me. Thanks for dropping by with a comment! 🙂

Hi Jenna, I’m super happy I found your blog, your work is very inspirational. I’ve never tried a scratchboard before, but you have definitely mastered it with this horse piece. Looking forward to following you and thank you for stopping by my blog too and your kind words. Have a great day 🙂
