I am one of those people who is very sentimental about history. I love learning all about my family members from generations ago. I am blessed to have a number of photographs of my family that date from the early 1900s. I even have a copy of a photograph of my great-great-great grandfather, James, who was a Civil War veteran.
I just think it’s so important to cherish who we are and where we came from. In honor of my family heritage, I have begun to do a series of drawings of my family tree. Below are photos of my great-great grandmother, Georgia, and of my great-grandparents, Alfred and Nellie.
And here are my drawings of these two photographs. Those of you who have been following my blog have probably seen them before.
This is just the start of my series of drawings of my ancestors. I have many more wonderful, candid snapshots of my family which I look forward to drawing.
Here is another example of my Ancestry Art. This was a commission, and it was great fun to draw! You can learn more about this drawing here.
