Norman

06 Dec

Since I cannot yet post my finished Christmas drawing for our annual cards (it’s a surprise 😉 ), I thought I would make a non-art post today about my new little housecat, Norman.

You may remember that we lost our dear sweet Scooter some over a year ago.  Since then, it has just been my sweet Oliver, which was fine, but altogether too quiet and lonely.  Even Oliver seemed a bit out of sorts over time.

As it turns out, we ended up with a perfectly-marked, adorable tuxedo kitten outside.  He actually came from my grandparents’ home, as they had too many cats outside.  Well, he was a wild, nervous kitten at first, but very quickly warmed up to us.  Rather on a whim, we decided to try bringing him into the house to see if he and Oliver would get along.  It went better than could be expected, and they get along quite well.  Almost every day, I’ll find Oliver laying on the floor with Norman sprawled on his back beside him.  They lick each other and share their toys.  They play and co-exist very well.  I am so glad for this because Oliver is a very strong-willed cat – that’s what I love about him.  I feared that he wouldn’t like another housecat, but it’s going extremely well.  Norman has been in the house for probably a couple of months now.  And what a precious cat he is!  So pretty too.  He adores attention and seems to constantly portray how thankful he is to be in the house.  Especially now as the weather turns cold and snowy, and it almost seems like he’s smiling from his toasty spot on the heat vent.

The name Norman was simply a given.  Within about a day of having him inside, we just knew that would be his name.  He couldn’t be anything but Norman. 🙂

Thank you for looking, and happy December! 🙂

Thanks so much for the sweet comments, Jocelyne! I was fortunate that Norman found his way to us…Oliver doesn’t typically like other cats, so this worked out perfectly! Winny looks like such a honey. He must want to keep you all to himself. 🙂 Thanks again.
